Dear Ensemble and Vocalise singers and
families,
Thank you to everyone who took part in our masterclasses and rehearsals with Will Todd. We
had an exciting and inspiring few days! Our next big event is the Nov. 8th
Workshop, where Intermediate, Ensemble, and Vocalise spend a morning rehearsing
their holiday repertoire together and follow the rehearsal with a short concert
and lunch for all. Check out the SCOOP for full details. A summary is
below:
Fall Workshop

Call time: 9:30am for both Ensemble
and Vocalise
Attire: Cantabile black t-shirt
and jeans. (No shorts or flip flops.)
Families arrive for concert:

Aria Performances
Aria singers: an email is coming to you early next week with information on
your upcoming fall performances. In the meantime, please be sure to mark your
calendars with the dates previously discussed in rehearsals and on the Facebook
group page:

What to Practice This Week
ENSEMBLE
Repertoire
This week, focus on three pieces:
Inflammatus et accentus. Read the translation of the text on the back of your scores,
then click HERE to listen to the piece performed by two soloists.
Magic Prayer: Work
particularly on measures 75-end.
Cool Yule: Review page 6 and come
up with some ideas for simple choreography – we will share these next week.
Musicianship
Pages 22-24 are due next week
for all singers completing “A Young Singer’s Journey” Book III or IV. Please
also view the marker’s comments at the front of the book and make sure that you
have corrected any mistakes made in last week’s work.

VOCALISE
Carols and Lullabies: This week we worked on the first 6
movements. Please review them all, and movement 1 in particular. Come with all
