Dear Ensemble and Vocalise Families,

Below you will find information on our last events of the term:

PACO HOLIDAY CONCERT

For any available Ensemble and Vocalise singers who are able to attend both the dress rehearsal and the performance, with the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra and dancers of PBA

Dress Rehearsal – NOTE TIME CHANGES

Date: Dec 13^th

Location:  Room M2 at the Cubberley Theatre, Cubberley Community Centre, 4000 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto

Time: 6:30-8:15pm

Attire: Cantabile T-shirts and black pants

Repertoire: When Christmas Comes To Town, Jingle Bell Swing, Winter Wonderland, Man with the Bag, Donkey Carol, Halleluia Chorus

The Cubberley Community Center is rather large (was once a high school). Room M2 is located at the South end of the campus. There is a large parking lot at the south end of the complex, near the Theater. The entrance to the parking lot is from Middlefield Rd, opposite the traffic light at Montrose Ave. Laura, Vocalise Choir Parent, will be there early to help direct you to the right place.

Concert

Date: Dec 15^th

Location: Menlo-Atherton Center for Performing Arts, 555 Middlefield Road, Atherton

Call time: 1:00pm

Concert: 3:00pm

Attire: Black pants/long skirts, black top, red/green scarves, Santa hats

Tickets: Free performance

NUTCRACKER

Dress Rehearsal - Mandatory for all Nutcracker singers

Date: Dec 12^th

Location: Center for Performing Arts: 255 S Almaden Blvd, San Jose, CA 95113

Schedule:

6:15 Drop off

6:30 Rehearsal 

7:00 Run through with Maestro

7:30 Dress rehearsal begins

8:30 Done.

Performances - Dec. 13-26 (8 designated singers per show)

Parking: Free in parking garage across the street, Scott's Grill. Parking vouchers will be in the green room. Put them into machine when exciting the garage.

Attire: Cantabile black t-shirt, black pants, black soft sole shoes (flats or Cantabile shoes).

Drop off and pick up: Artist entrance (back stage) or passenger drop-off zone in front of CPA. Singers who drive themselves must first sign in with chaperone outside and then go inside. Parents who don't want to park and just drop off may do so. Parents who want to park and walk their children to the theatre need to sign in the child with the chaperone. If arriving late once the drop off time is over, a parent needs to walk the singer into the theatre. 

Call time: Top of show, released just before intermission.

Chaperones:

- Must have the list of singers for the show for sign in and sign out

- Must be at the drop off zone in front of theatre 15 min prior to call time to receive the singers

- Walk singers to the stage door and into the theatre at call time

- Collect singers after the performance, take them to the same drop off/loading zone for pick up

- Wait until all children are picked up

Definitions:

“Top of show” – official time the ballet starts (please note: start times may differ)

“Call time” – time the singer must be in inside the theatre and ready

“Drop off time” – usually 15 mins before call time (chaperone ready to receive children at drop off zone)

ARIA PERFORMANCES

Dec. 14^th – Aria performances at the Fairmont Hotel (170 S Market Street, San Jose) and The Villages Golf & Country Club (2800 The Villages Fairway Drive, San Jose)

Fairmont: 3:15pm call time in the Lobby Lounge, 3:45-4:15pm performance

Villages: 5pm
call time, 5:15-5:35pm rehearsal in private room, 5:45-6:15pm performance

Concert Blog Post 12/06/2013

Dear Ensemble and Vocalise Families,

Our Dec. 7th Holidays With Cantabile concert is finally here! We’re so excited!

Location: St. Joseph’s Cathedral, San Jose

Attire: Performance uniform! NO jewelry (except for very small ear-rings), bracelets or watches.

Please bring water bottles with your name clearly marked!

Dec. 7th Concert Schedule:

11:15 – Voc/Ens arrives ­– coats off, pins on, bags to assigned seats

11:30 – On stage IN UNIFORM à warm up, Ens sings Donkey Carol, Voc sings Mass

11:45 – Int/Prep 3 join on stage: Noel, Silent Night, Bows

12:15 – Ens/Int rehearse Man with Bag (Ens leave for Parish Hall à snack, bathroom)

12:25 – Voc rehearses Snow with violins

12:35 – Voc to PH, doors open

12:50 – Line up in PH, Noel formation

12:55 – Walk to stage from last row to first, entering through Cathedral back door single file

1:00 PM – CONCERT BEGINS

3:00 PM – CONCERT ENDS

CHILDREN ARE DISMISSED FROM PARISH HALL 

     

Schedule of Upcoming Events:

Dec. 11^th – Ensemble rehearses PACO concert repertoire, Foothills Church, 5:00-7:00pm. 
Details: 5-6pm(ish): rehearse Winter Wonderland, Hallelujah Chorus, Jingle Bell Swing, When Christmas Comes To Down, Man With The Bag. Around 6pm --> little party/singalong for all (parents, siblings, and choristers). Bring some treats! We'll sing some holiday favourites. :)

Dec. 12^th – Nutcracker dress rehearsal (mandatory for all Nutcracker singers), Center for Performing Arts, San Jose, 7:00pm start time (call and dismissal times TBA)

Dec. 13^th – Dress rehearsal for PACO concert, Cubberley Theatre, Cubberley Community Centre, 4000 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto

Call time: 6:45pm for a 7:00pm rehearsal, dismissal is 8:00pm at the latest

Participants: All Vocalise and Ensemble singers minus the 8 Nutcracker singers

Attire: Cantabile T-shirts and black pants

Dec. 13^th–26^th – Nutcracker performances (8 designated singers per show)
