Rehearsal Blog Update 11/07/2014

Dear Ensemble and Vocalise singers and families,

TOMORROW is our Fall Workshop and Family Potluck, where Intermediate, Ensemble, Vocalise, and Bravi spend a morning rehearsing their holiday repertoire together and follow the rehearsal with a short concert and lunch for all. Check out the SCOOP for full details. A summary is below:

Fall Workshop

When: November 8^th

Where: First United Methodist Church, Palo Alto

Call time: 9:30am for both Ensemble and Vocalise

Attire: Cantabile black t-shirt and jeans. (No shorts or flip flops.)

Families arrive for concert: 12:00pm

Potluck lunch: 1:00pm

Holidays With Cantabile

Dec 1: Dress Rehearsal #1, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, San Jose

Dec 3: Dress Rehearsal #2, St. Joseph’s Cathedral

Dec 6: Holidays with Cantabile Concert, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, 11am call, 1pm performance

Dec 8: Vocalise and Aria Recording Session (details tba)

Ensemble Musicianship

Pages 31-33 are due next week for all singers completing “A Young Singer’s Journey” Book III or IV. Please also view the marker’s comments at the front of the book and make sure that you have corrected any mistakes made in last week’s work.

Due Nov 10^th: Star Carol, Carols #1 (Spanish), #2 (English), #4 (Spanish), and #6 (English)

Due Nov 17^th: Wie Lieblich, Carols #3 (Spanish) and #9 (Spanish)

Due Nov 24^th: Fum Fum Fum

Done: It’s the Most Wonderful Time, Gloria, Silent Night

Please email Elena if you are interested in solos in O Sifuni Mungu, or Carols and Lullabies #2 (3 duets – one for each verse).
